A Waiting Kennedy

As social injustice strived in the south in the earlier 1960s, President Kennedy turned a blind eye. Whether he wanted to keep southern politicians happy for elections or overlooked the situations to maintain the nation's image, Kennedy was not justified in breaking promises and avoiding direct action. Although he and his brother would say otherwise, waiting for publicized outbreak in places like Birmingham did more harm than good. If not for major backlash and violence that sparked mass discontent, both black and white, around America, how much longer would rights be denied? Would Kennedy have even taken action?
